where do you get all those old cylinders ?
I luv Bix
The amberol is great cylinder format. I hope to find a machine and some cylinders someday. I was at an auction in a town called Greenfield Indiana on New Years day a few years back trying to acquire a player but lost the bid. Probably the Colonel's traveling product buyer bid the price too high and bought the player. There was also some nice table machine that were sold out of my price range.
Mine is an edison fireside that plays both 2 and 4 min cylinders, as you can hear the 4 min gear is a bit wobbly though!
Rob most of my collection is 78 and Edison media.
did edison make 78s ? that colonel guy gets everywhere
I luv Bix

"In July 1929 we announced the Edison Lateral Cut Record, which was ultimately to supersede the Hill & Dale Record, previously sold. At the present time we are making both types. The sales in September ran 29,766 for Lateral Cut and 8,479 for Hill and Dale."
