jack hylton mercenary mary 1925, a classic!

A real dance band classic, this. Mercenary Mary, played by Jack Hylton's orchestra in 1925. I just replaced my pretty worn out copy with this nice E one!

This is great! Got this the other day for £1 from a friend, bit of a rough copy but I did my best with it, a great hot arrangement of button up your overcoat by Percival Mackey's Band, 1929.

Blue River Willard Robison 1927

https://youtu.be/9DFmippgzI4
Here's the other side to the St Louis blues posted earlier, I think this is the better side of the two, the one I prefer anyway. Wilard Robison sings and plays blue river, 1927.

willard robison st louis blues 1927, an odd one!

https://youtu.be/uRjAOyxAb7o the St Louis blues, sung and played by Willard Robison. This turned up in a huge free collection a couple of years ago, one of the best things in it and I can't find this online anywhere. This has an extra verse and is rather a different version to what I've heard previo...

Mischa Elman plays tchaikovsky in 1919

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCZavbpvAPo
What a wonderful record this is. Mischa Elman plays Mélodie Op 42 (Tchaikovsky), acoustically recorded in 1919. I've not done any noise reduction on this, just click repair, everything seemed to effect the piano so I just left it! This is hmv 07929.

tom clare the night when the old cow died 1912, pretty funny!

https://youtu.be/pdxWBNVxG_k It's nice to hear Tom Clare doing something that isn't the telephone record, this is something of a rarity to me as until today I'd never seen a copy. It came from a great collection I've just bought of mostly classical 78s and sets, great stuff! I've tried my best at re...

Al Bowlly was great and here's why!

https://youtu.be/jU-oZ00QzGM I think this is my new favorite Al Bowlly record, there's something lovely about this. From the same little lot of 6 that the Elsie Carlile came from is Al singing I'll never be the same with Lew Stone's band. Balloons is the flip and I found that one a bit disapointing,...

Elsie Carlile my man o' war 1930, an almost shocking record!

https://youtu.be/0mLLridKsoI I have a records wanted section on oldgramophonerecords.co.uk and somebody contacted me with an offer of some records, I only wanted 5 but they were nice and included this naughty record from 1930, Elsie Carlile singing my man o' war. I had no idea what condition it'd be...

Here's one I did earlier, a worn record with quite a bit of noise reduction, I think it sounds alright but let's see what you think. I do keep raw files of all these... Gems from Rose Marie, on a 1925 12 inch hmv.
